Oakley Wisdom Goggles

March 23rd, 2006

The oldest cliche in the skiing industry is “You should have been here yesterday!” Well, it can seem like your timing isn’t always perfect, but more times than not a day that doesn’t look so good can turn out to be a pretty good day of skiing and riding. Good vision is essential to confidence in skiing and riding and a quality pair of goggles can make all the difference on a day when things aren’t as clear as usual. My personal recommendation for quality goggles is the Oakley Wisdom.

The Oakley Wisdom has all the features that I think are important in a pair of goggles. The frame and lens design combines to give you an excellent view including to your periphery. It’s a very durable frame that’s still flexible enough to hold a comfortable seal on your face. It also meets all ANSI Z87.1 and ASTM F659 standards for impact resistance. There are literally dozens of types of interchangable lenses so you can tailor your view to the light conditions. Yes, the retail list is $95, but the quality of these goggles is so high that I expect you’ll get several long seasons out of them. Professional skiers like instructors and patrols invest in good vision, and the resulting excellent view is an important factor in their skiing and riding skills.
The Wisdom was born to be used in heavy weather conditions; let them be your extra set of “eyes” when the going gets tough!
