Sunscreen protection is a must for those spring skiing days when the sun is high and bright. After a full winter of limited exposure, the strong spring sun can really do a number on your pale skin if you don’t take some precautions. Sunscreen is the #1 preventative and a personal favorite for sunscreen protection are products from the Bullfrog brand. Bullfrog produces several different versions including a combination sunscreen/insect repellant, but my favorite is an product they call BullfrogŪ The Quik GelŪ SPF 36 available from Campmor. It’s a “gel” style sunscreen that applies easily and then dries pretty quickly with no greasiness. It’s waterproof, which makes it ideal for skiiing and riding. Oh, and it has a nice orangy smell to it as well.

Sunscreen isn’t something you can put off till later
; you need to apply it before you head out into the sun or you haven’t really gotten the full benefit of using it. Bullfrog’s pretty durable, but I find two measured applications (morning and lunch) is better than one heavy coat sometime during the day. When it comes to sun protection, a little bit goes a long way!
