Telemark Targa T9 Binding

December 28th, 2006

The end of the season brings great opportunities to set yourself for next season by investing in the past’s season gear at end-of-the-season sales. New, never-used gear from the previous season is always a better alternative than buying someone’s used and worn gear. After a season where I borrowed my roommate’s telemark gear to free my heel, I’m ready for the coming winter after buying a pair of Targa G3 T9 Telemark Bindings.

Awesome is the single best word to sum up the Targa G3 T9 Telemark Binding. The Targa is part aluminum and steel and is considered an all mountain binding for skilled, strong skiers. I’ve had equal success on groomed and off piste terrain and apparently so have others: the G3 binding system is one of the most common on the slopes. The T9 identifier marks it as the part aluminum and steel version of the G3: the T9 is lighter and is worth the small extra dollars. A lighter binding can often mean unwanted give in the binding set; the T9 has a solid feel to it that doesn’t interfere with the design flex of your telemark boot.
