Winter Season 2006-2007
April 25th, 2006Yeah, the snow’s melted here in the Northeast and the yard work is calling. This season’s over, right? And the next one has just begun! There’s no time like the present to start getting ready for Winter 2006-2007; here are some tips on planning for a successful one:
Get ready for Winter 2006-2007 by doing the following:
- Check out your local and/or favorite ski resorts’ websites for early purchase bargains for season passes. Invest now so you can ski for less later!
- Get your gear tuned one last time and have the shop store it for you. In the fall, it will only take one call to have your bindings checked and you’ll be ready to pick it up and go.
- Replace worn out gear, clothing, and accessories now. There’s plenty of hard goods and soft goods sales both on-line and in retail stores.
- Make vacation plans and reservations now. Sure, it takes some forethought and a deposit, but did you ever wonder who gets to stay in those awesome trail-side condos with the best locations? It could be you, if you make some efforts now.
- Work in the industry. Check with your local ski resort’s human resources department and see what positions are available for next season, both paid and volunteer. It’s very possible there’s a role that might just take you in a new career direction.
- Write down some goals. Right now you’re probably able to recall your season in good detail. By July, you won’t. Put down some thoughts now about what you accomplished, what you’d like to do next season, and what planning will get you there. A few written words now will go a long way in November.
